In Greenway, Skeet Club, and Deep River, mid-century construction is reaching the end of its first or second roof. And the 1990s and 2000s builder homes off Eastchester Drive and Skeet Club Road are hitting the 20-25 year mark all at once, which is why when one house on a cul-de-sac goes, the whole street usually follows within a couple of seasons.

What older High Point homes need that newer ones don’t
Central High Point has a heavy concentration of pre-1960 homes with original brick chimneys, and the flashing, crown, and cap work around them is some of the most common detail on our High Point tickets. We install copper and stainless chimney caps in our own shop to fit those chimneys properly. The same neighborhoods often still have original galvanized gutters well past service life that we replace at the same time as the roof.
There’s also a real tree-canopy split here. The mature oak canopy over central High Point loads roofs with debris and accelerates moss and algae growth, while the newer subdivisions sit open and exposed. We factor that into the shingle line and ventilation we recommend — because a roof that isn’t properly vented dies young no matter how good the shingle is. When we replace a roof we bring ventilation to code (about 1 sq ft of net free area per 300 sq ft of attic, balanced intake to exhaust) and install continuous ridge vents with baffles, not the stamped aluminum vents that blow out in the first hailstorm.
