When to replace an Advance roof
Advance and Bermuda Run have a higher concentration of large custom homes (4,000+ sq ft) than almost anywhere else in our service area. The roofs we replace here are typically the most complex and the most premium of any Triad project we work on — multiple valleys, dormers, designer materials, copper accents, and meticulous flashing details.
The Bermuda Run gated community in particular tends toward Owens Corning Berkshire designer shingles or standing seam metal as the standard selection. We install both routinely.
Advance-specific considerations
- Bermuda Run HOA. Architectural review is required for visible exterior work. We’re familiar with the approval process and quote to spec from day one.
- Larger, more complex roofs. A typical Advance project is 3-5 days, sometimes longer for the largest homes.
- River-proximity weather. Homes close to the Yadkin River have slightly higher humidity exposure, accelerating algae growth on shaded north exposures. We recommend zinc strips or algae-resistant shingles.
- Premium expectations. The materials, the install quality, and the documentation expectations are all higher here than in volume-builder neighborhoods. We deliver accordingly.
Materials for Advance homes
Owens Corning Berkshire and GAF Grand Sequoia designer shingles are common selections. Standing seam metal (painted steel, aluminum, occasionally copper) is increasingly popular. Synthetic slate for the few homes with original slate. Copper chimney caps, copper gutters, and copper accents are frequent components.
