What we believe
Most roofing companies advertise the same thing — local, family-owned, trustworthy, the best. We get it. It's hard to differentiate a roofing business in a brochure. What we'd rather do is tell you how we actually operate, and let our work speak for itself.
We believe the roof is one of the most consequential systems on your building. Done right, it lasts 30+ years and you don't think about it again. Done wrong, it leaks within five years, ruins drywall and insulation and electrical, and costs you more than the original install. So we install it right, even when no one's watching.
How we're different
We don't subcontract.
The crew on your roof works for Mid Atlantic. They've been with us for years. They train every season, they're background-checked, and they're insured under our policies. Most roofing contractors — especially the regional and national chains — hire day-labor subcontractors for installs. We don't. The crew that hands you the warranty paperwork is the crew you call if there's ever a problem.
You're calling a small family business.
We're a small team, not a regional call center. When you have a question — about an estimate, about a job in progress, about a warranty issue three years from now — you're talking to someone who actually knows your project.
We don't pad insurance claims.
Insurance fraud is rampant in the roofing industry — particularly from out-of-state storm chasers who roll into the Triad after every hail event. We document storm damage accurately, work with adjusters honestly, and don't inflate scopes to maximize the claim. It's why we still have customers from twenty years ago, and why we don't lose them to scammy door-knockers.
We tell you when not to replace.
If your roof has another 5-10 years of life, we'll tell you that even if you came to us asking for a replacement. We make our money on doing work that needs doing — not on creating work that doesn't.
Credentials and certifications
The roofing industry has a lot of certifications. We hold the ones that actually matter:
- Owens Corning Platinum Preferred Contractor — the top designation Owens Corning awards. Only 576 contractors in the United States hold it. It's not a sticker you buy: it takes years of work with Owens Corning, a background check, a credit check, a minimum $1M liability policy, good standing with suppliers, ongoing training, and random annual inspections of completed jobs. Gives us access to Owens Corning's extended System Protection warranties up to 50 years — including labor coverage.
- HAAG-Certified Roof Inspectors — HAAG is the engineering and forensics certification insurance adjusters use. HAAG-certified inspectors can effectively assess damage on every major residential roof type and understand manufacture, installation, weathering, hail damage, wind damage, maintenance, mechanical damage, and repair costs across each system. When we document storm damage, our reports carry weight with carriers.
- Gorilla Pre-Vetted Pro — Gorilla is the insurance industry's largest pre-vetted service-pro network. They independently verify our insurance, our licenses, our background checks, and our reviews — and continuously monitor us for compliance. If we ever fell out of standing, we'd lose the listing.
- Carlisle SynTec Authorized Applicator — Carlisle is the industry leader in commercial single-ply roofing systems (TPO, EPDM, PVC). Authorization means our installers have completed Carlisle's training program and our commercial work is eligible for Carlisle's NDL (No Dollar Limit) warranties.
- Licensed NC General Contractor #101362 — full general-contractor license in North Carolina, not just a limited residential roofing endorsement.
- Fully insured — $1,000,000 general liability policy with Acord on every project. Workers' compensation on every crew member. Vehicle insurance.
- A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau — accredited business in good standing.
- In business since 2016 — with a physical office at 2915 Reynolda Rd, Winston-Salem, NC 27106.
What "Owens Corning Platinum Preferred" actually requires
The Platinum Preferred designation isn't a marketing badge — it's an ongoing qualification. To earn and keep it, a contractor must:
- Pass a background check
- Carry a minimum of $1,000,000 in general liability insurance
- Be in good standing with their suppliers
- Pass an extensive vetting process that typically takes several years to complete
- Demonstrate a proven commitment to ongoing training, workmanship, and customer service
- Undergo a credit check and be financially solvent
- Have worked with Owens Corning for at least three years
- Submit to random yearly inspections by Owens Corning for quality and workmanship

Their Platinum Preferred Contractors exist to give homeowners the peace of mind that comes from quality shingles installed by vetted local experts.
How that translates to your project
We pull all your shingles from the same lot number, so you don't end up with a patchwork of slightly mismatched colors. We use every component the manufacturer specifies — starter strips, ice and water shield, ridge cap, ventilation — instead of cutting them out to save a few dollars and voiding your warranty. Our crews are dedicated employees of Mid Atlantic Roofing Systems (not day-labor subcontractors), and they're trained by Owens Corning. A typical residential roof installation is finished in one day — your sales rep will walk you through the exact timeline and tell you how to prepare your property before we start.
